ASTMH President Joel G. Breman and other members of ASTMH are among 55 signatories from 20 countries joining the call for urgent efforts to demand safe, quality medicines during the spread of COVID-19. Their comment appeared April 9 on The Lancet website: "Without preparation for the quality assurance of diagnostic tests, drugs, and vaccines, the world risks a parallel pandemic of substandard and falsified products.
