"This new AJTMH supplement offers a valuable set of reports on malaria in Madagascar, a country with one of the largest malaria burdens in the world," said Journal Editor in Chief Philip J. Rosenthal, MD, FASTMH. "Articles from experts cover malaria drugs, vector control tools, and new interventions in Madagascar—with insights likely to impact optimization of strategies to improve the control and eventual elimination of malaria in the country."

Guest Editor Stephy Ramboarina added, "This supplement showcases how locally driven research can directly inform policy and practice.
