Meet Musa Mohammed Ali from Ethiopia, Who Joined Through Our LMIC Membership Campaign and Renewed the Following Year

Musa Mohammed Ali, a certified medical laboratory technologist at Hawassa University in Ethiopia, he joined ASTMH in 2022 through the LMIC Membership Campaign. He renewed the following year and has encouraged five of his colleagues to join the Society. 

Annual Meeting Dates Shifted to November 13-17

We recently learned that global musical icon Taylor Swift will be performing in New Orleans for three nights directly overlapping our original October meeting dates. Her performance is expected to bring close to 250,000 “Swifties” (fans) to the city, creating challenges for transportation and restaurants—and resulting in a shortage of available hotel rooms and higher costs for the rooms still available.

Srijana and Sujata Bhattarai Chhetri: Sisters, Roommates and 2023 Kean Fellows

Srijana and Sujata Bhattarai Chhetri are sisters with much more in common than a surname. The roommates both attend University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, share an interest in studying tropical medicine, are ASTMH members and were selected as Kean Fellows for 2023.
