ASTMH Supports the March for Science

Posted 17 April 2017

ASTMH is proud to stand with the broader science community in support of the March for Science on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017. We encourage our members and colleagues to celebrate science by joining the March in Washington, D.C., or by organizing/participating in one in your local community. You may find information on local events here.

As a non-partisan voice for tropical medicine/global health, ASTMH stands with our colleagues in the science community but also with the public, who benefit from science every day. To realize our vision – a world free from tropical infectious diseases – we must have strong national and international research collaborations, robust U.S. support of infectious disease research and programs, and evidence-based policies and programs that protect the health of people inside and outside the United States. This is the smart thing to do and the right thing to do.

Founded in 1903, ASTMH is the largest international scientific organization of tropical infectious disease experts dedicated reducing the worldwide burden of tropical infectious diseases and improve global health.
