November 19, 2020 – The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene has announced Julie Jacobson, MD, as its new President. Dr. Jacobson is a managing partner at Bridges to Development in Seattle.
She succeeds Joel G. Breman, MD, DTM&H, FASTMH, who is retired from the Fogarty International Center, National Institutes of Health. Daniel G. Bausch, MD, MPH&TM, FASTMH, of the UK Public Health Rapid Support Team in London, is President-Elect.
The Society also welcomed three new Board members: Myaing Myaing Nyunt, MD, PhD, MPH, United States; Amanda Elyssa Ruiz (PhD Candidate), Brown University in Providence, RI; and Jonathan K. Stiles, PhD, FASTMH, Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.
