ASTMH Newsletter: Volume 58 Number 4
December 2009
ASTMH comes together each year for our annual meeting, but we are so much more than that.
Here are four simple things you can do to ensure you're maximizing the value of being part of the ASTMH community:
1) Get involved! Consider joining one of our active subgroups: the American Committee on Arthropod-Borne Viruses (ACAV), the American Committee of Molecular, Cellular and Immunoparasitology (ACMCIP), the American Committee of Medical Entomology (ACME), and our clinical group — the American Committee on Clinical Tropical Medicine and Travelers’ Health (ACCTMTH).
2) Connect with colleagues. Join the ASTMH Linkedin group for professional networking. Become a fan of ASTMH on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter for convenient updates.
3) Browse our resources. ASTMH provides a variety of online resources to aid members in their service to the fields of tropical medicine and global health: explore fellowship opportunities, view the famed Zaiman parasite slide collection, keep up on the latest hot-button issues from the field, peruse job openings in the ASTMH career center, and read our essential publications -- the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and Tropical Medicine and Hygiene News.
4) Update your contact information. Make sure your contact information is current to ensure the continuance of member benefits without interruption. After logging on, click "Edit Profile" on the left-hand side of the page to update your information
