Babesia microti

Giemsa stained slides from a fatal case on Fire Island, N. Y., (1982). The parasitemia is high for human babesiosis. Budding, multiply-infected erythrocytes, tetrad formation, band forms, reticulocytosis and clumping of extracellular parasites may be seen.
