Karen A. Goraleski, Executive Director
Karen Goraleski is Executive Director of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, a worldwide organization of scientists, clinicians, and program professionals whose mission is to promote global health through the prevention and control of infectious and other diseases that disproportionately afflict the global poor. Research, health care and education are the central activities of its members, whose work bridges basic research to international field work and clinics to country-wide programs. Read her complete bio here.

Tonya Cabrera, Order Processing Department
Tonya Cabrera is responsible for many of the Society's support operations, including processing member payments and general member service. She is currently pursuing her degree in organizational management. Prior to joining ASTMH, Ms. Cabrera worked for another non-profit organization.

William Chandler, Senior Accountant
William Chandler is responsible for the monthly financial statement preparation, investment account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, payables management, assisting the treasurer with reports and presentations and managing audits for the Society. He worked mainly in the non-profit sector prior to joining ASTMH and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Benedictine University.

Judy DeAcetis, Administrator
In her role as Administrator, Judy DeAcetis manages planning of the Annual Meeting program, supports the council and manages society fellowships. Ms. DeAcetis began her career in nonprofit association management after graduating from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Ms. DeAcetis has served on the staff of professional societies such as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, the International Society for Stem Cell Research and the Academy for Eating Disorders.

Buffy Finn, Member Services Administrator
Buffy Finn is Member Services Administrator, where her responsibilities include managing members' dues and invoicing,  journal subscriptions, the Certificate of Knowledge Examination, society subgroups, the Young Investigator Awards, the Clinical Research Awards, annual meeting logistics and general customer service. Ms. Finn graduated from Illinois State University, and prior to joining ASTMH, she held positions in the sales and customer services arenas.

Jeff Keller, Marketing Communications Manager
Jeff Keller manages the Society's marketing and communications, including media relations, website content development and social media strategy. Mr. Keller graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Illinois and previously worked in corporate and mass communications for health and wellness companies and media organizations.

Lyn Maddox, Director of Meetings
Lyn Maddox is Director of Meetings, a position she has held for 14 years. Her responsibilities include planning and executing all of the logistics related to the Annual Meeting, from identifying the location of the meeting to onsite management of the event. She has been in the meetings industry for 25 years, and previously worked for The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and assisted in the launch of a special events company. Ms. Maddox is an active member of the Professional Convention Management Association.

Kim Santos, Meeting Manager-Registration and Exhibits
Kim Santos is the Meeting Manager of Registration and Exhibits, where her responsibilities include managing registration for delegates attending the Annual Meeting and coordinating and managing exhibit and support sales for the Annual Meeting. Ms. Santos earned her BA in sociology and worked in the hospitality industry for more than 13 years before joining ASTMH.
