For more than a century, the members of ASTMH have been striving to
prevent and control infectious and other diseases that
disproportionately afflict the global poor. Research, health care and
education are the cornerstones of ASTMH. Our work bridges basic
laboratory research to international field work and clinics to
country-wide programs.
For Indviduals
Regular Membership includes voting privileges, ability to hold office, subscription to the monthly Journal and quarterly newsletter, and member rates for the annual scientific meeting and other events where applicable.
Student Membership includes voting privileges, subscription to the monthly Journal and quarterly newsletter, and member rates for the annual scientific meeting and other events where applicable. This type of membership is available to full-time students pursuing studies in the field of tropical medicine. Proof of student status must accompany application.
Life Membership includes voting privileges, ability to hold office, subscription to the monthly Journal and quarterly newsletter, and member rates for the annual scientific meeting and other events where applicable. This type of membership is available by paying 20 times the current regular membership rate.
Emeritus Membership is available after 15 years of continuous active membership and retirement from active work in tropical medicine. Emeritus members do not pay dues, receive the Journal, and receive the quarterly newsletter. This membership status is considered upon written request from the active member.
American Committee on Arthropod-Borne Viruses (ACAV) Subgroup Membership is available for members with an interest in the field of arbovirology. ACAV conducts a special awards program and organizes a symposium at the annual meeting on a relevant topic.
American Committee of Medical Entomology (ACME) Subgroup Membership is available for members whose interests lie in the area of human diseases transmitted by arthropods. This group conducts an annual meeting travel awards program, an awards program for outstanding achievement in medical entomology and organizes symposia at the annual meeting.
American Committee of Molecular, Cellular and Immunoparasitology (ACMCIP) Subgroup Membership is available for members who work in the varied disciplines of parasitology, especially in basic laboratory, pre-clinical and translational research, clinician sciences and population-based sciences. Through annual meeting programming, ACMCIP fosters the transfer of fundamental discoveries in basic research to applications that improve human health.
Clinical Subgroup Membership is available for members involved in the clinical aspect of tropical medicine. The American Committee on Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health (ACCTMTH) provides a directory of member clinicians to individuals requesting referrals, and offers an e-mail forum for discussion of cases and dissemination of information.

Affiliate Membership
This is an
opportunity for a company, corporation, foundation or other type of
organization to support the Society and its mission.
Affiliate Membership Levels: Patron $5,000 per year or more; Donor $1,000 - $4,999 per year; Contributor $ 500 - $ 999 per year
Affiliate members designate one individual to serve as the main contact and receive mailings.

Affiliate Student Membership Program
Are you

program? Do you want to give your students access to leaders in the
global health field as well as essential educational resources?
You can now do both by making your student organization an Affiliate
Member of ASTMH.
Now, student groups in universities, schools of medicine and public
health, and other institutions to benefit from ASTMH affiliate
membership under a single group amount that remains the same, regardless
of the number of students who participate.
Your student organization joins as an Affiliate Member and signs up
every student who would like to receive the benefits of memberships.
Upon joining, your group designates one representative to serve as the
main contact, vote on behalf of the group, and even hold an elected
office in ASTMH.
