Communications Award

Purpose of the Award

The Communications Award recognizes exceptional achievement in tropical medicine journalism which educates lay readers and informs public policy regarding diseases and health conditions of poor and underserved populations. This award will honor an individual author or authors, as opposed to an employer, publisher or institution. Eligible entries will include feature-length newspaper articles, magazine articles or series published in lay-oriented periodicals. Full-length books, book chapters, and articles published solely online and broadcast journalism are not eligible for this prize, nor are original scientific research articles or technical reports, newsletter articles and promotional copy.

Nomination Form

Submit your nomination on line beginning the week of July 20 at http://www.astmh.org/source/award/index.cfm. The deadline is September 1, 2011. Your nomination must include a .pdf or Microsoft World file of the nominated work.
