disasters, from earthquakes, flooding and droughts to epidemics, civil
unrest and other disasters.

Haiti Earthquake Relief
Jan.12, 2012, marks the two-year anniversary of the devastating
earthquake in Haiti. While some progress has been made, the need is
still great. The following organizations are dedicated to aiding** the
Haiti earthquake relief effort:
American Red
Cross: The American Red Cross is accepting donations for Haiti
earthquake relief on their website.
Hôpital
Albert Schweitzer (HAS): HAS provides medical care and community
health and development programs for more than 300,000 impoverished
people in the Artibonite Valley of central Haiti.
Partners In Health:
Partners In Health is dedicated to providing the global poor with
preferential health options and is collecting donations to provide
supplies to hospitals and health groups in Haiti.
**On Jan. 16, 2010, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention issued a set of guidelines for those individuals and groups
traveling to Haiti to participate in the relief effort. Please
review CDC Guidance for Relief Workers and Others Traveling to
Haiti for Earthquake Response before traveling to the
area.

Pakistan Flood Relief
In July 2010, Pakistan was devastated by flooding as a result of
monsoon rains. More than 307,000 square miles of land was underwater and
an estimated 20 million people were displaced. The death toll from the
flood and aftermath is approximately 2,000 people. The following
organizations are providing relief to those in Pakistan:
